A brand new Xbox wireless controller will seemingly be revealed today.

That's according to Dealabs' reliable data miner 'billbil-kun' - known for previously leaking many industry announcements like upcoming PlayStation Plus line-ups. They reported that Microsoft will be releasing a new wireless controller in October.

Called the Xbox Wireless Controller - Ghost Cipher Special Edition, this piece of hardware is set to be released on October 8, 2024, for $69.99 / £64.99 (around AU$136.99).

Preorders for the controller are also expected to go live today, September 24, after Microsoft formally makes the announcement.

The Ghost Cipher controller is expected to be another transparent design like the Xbox Wireless Controller – Sky Cipher Special Edition, which launched last month.

The blue Sky Cipher is "Inspired by revealing the mysteries inside of the Xbox Wireless Controller", featuring metallic silver interior parts, "that shine through from inside, exuding an aura of sophistication and futuristic appeal," according to Microsoft's description.

The leaker reports that the information is based on the fact that they discovered that a new controller was being made that shares the same characteristics as the Sky Cipher, but it's unclear what color the controller will be at this time.

This summer, Microsoft unveiled new Xbox models including a 2TB Xbox Series X in a new Galaxy Black Special Edition, an all-digital 1TB Xbox Series X in Robot White, and an all-digital 1TB Xbox Series S in Robot White.

All three consoles will be officially released on October 15, but they're expected to launch in select countries on October 29. Here's where to buy and pre-order the new Xbox Series X and S consoles.
