Technology should make our lives easier. But having a dozen of more apps competing for our attention does the reverse. Integration is key, and that is the big problem in the CES home automation sector.

I spent most of my CES time in the emerging company section titled "Eureka," hoping for lightning to strike. It didn't. But this year's CES points to a much brighter and innovative future.
